The most commonly treated areas requested for treatment are the frown lines, forehead lines and crows feet. Anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to treat the lower face and like to the eyebrows.

Prior to your treatment, you will attend an initial complimentary consultation with our dedicated General Practitioner. They will go through your medical history and determine if you are a suitable candidate to receive treatment. You will then be taken through all aspects of the treatment.

The treatment itself is is carried out by injecting a toxin into specific muscles which produce expressions when contracted causing wrinkles and lines. The result is the muscles relax allowing the wrinkles and lines to smooth out.

The process is relatively pain free, takes just minutes to administer and is effective when injected by a trained and experienced practitioner.

Results can be seen usually within a week or up to ten days after the treatment and can last between 3-4 months, however, continued treatment may last for up to 6 months. All clients are welcome back for a follow up appointment two weeks after the procedure to ensure you are happy with your results.

Temporary redness and slight bleeding can be expected at the site of injection and tend to subside very quickly.

Possible side effects could include bruising, swelling, headaches, hypersensitivity and localised muscle weakness. It is very rare for these to occur. There are no known long term side effects, however if you have any concerns post treatment please contact the clinic as our team will always assist you.

In order to achieve optimal results following treatment, we recommend taking the following steps:

• Avoid exercise for 24 hours

• Avoid laying flat or bending for two hours after treatment

• Avoid makeup application on the injection sites for 24 hours

• Avoid excessive rubbing of the treated areas for 24 hours

• Avoid flying for 4 hours after treatment

• Avoid facial beauty treatments and enhancements for 2 weeks after treatment

The technique is an over dramatized fade where the brow is significantly lighter in the front and then gets deeper in colour as you move throughout the brow to the end. • With all cosmetic treatments delicate skin or sensitive areas may be left looking swollen or red, therefor we advise you not to make any social plans on the day of your enhancement.

• We ask you to refrain from wearing any make up to your enhancement appointment.

• Do not take aspirin or anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 2 days prior to your enhancement. (Do not discontinue any medication before consulting your doctor).

• Keep alcohol intake to a minimum 2 days prior to your enhancement.

• Do not use 1% Retin A skincare products close to the area to be treated for 6 weeks prior your procedure.

• Do not use AHA skincare products close to the area to be treated for 4 weeks prior to your procedure.

• Avoid professional chemical peels close to the procedure site for 4 weeks prior to your procedure.

• Please be aware that the National Blood Service does not accept donations of blood for 4 months after micro-pigmentation.

• Eyebrow enhancements, waxing and threading treatments should be performed no less than 1 week prior to your procedure.

• IPL laser hair removal should be performed no less than 2 weeks prior to your procedure.

• Electrolysis treatments should be performed no less than 2 weeks prior to your procedure.

• Eyebrow tinting should be performed no less than 4 weeks prior to your procedure.

• Eyebrow hair stimulating products should not be used for 4 weeks prior to your procedure.

• Botox in the brow region should not be performed any less than 2 weeks prior to procedure.

Although there are no medical evidence that tattooing would have any effect on an unborn child, we don’t know for sure. So we suggest you wait and come back after the baby is born and you are no longer nursing (breast feeding).

Proper care following your enhancement is necessary to achieve the best results. Please review the following instructions and refer to them as necessary.

Depending on your skin type, you may experience the following symptoms for 4 days post your enhancement:

• Minor swelling and redness.

• Mild tenderness.

• Itchiness in the eyebrow area.

• Dry flaking skin.

Please note that these symptoms are a normal part of the healing process.

Daily care to follow for 10 days:

On the day of your procedure, please don’t apply anything to the enhancement until the following morning. To clean your enhancement and help the area heal, you must apply the AFTER INKED cream provided to you after your enhancement, to the area. A tiny amount must be massaged into the enhancement. Prior to this you must also clean the area with damp cotton pad, using cold water. Take care to follow these strict instructions for 10 days cleaning and creaming AM & PM, twice a day. Make sure you wash your hands before applying the product.

• We also recommend that you use a gentle facial cleanser to freshen your skin during the first week.

• Do not splash wash your face. If your enhancement gets wet, gently pat the area dry using a clean tissue.

• Keep your hair away from your enhancement to prevent the possibility of infection. Some itching is normal.

• DO NOT PICK, PEEL OR RUB your enhancement as the colour may heal unevenly and you

could risk infection, which in turn could lead to scarring. Allow the colour to flake away by itself.

Do not receive skincare beauty treatments for 5 days after the application of your enhancement.

• No make-up should be applied close to your enhancement for 3 days.

• Avoid for 2 weeks

• Do not expose your enhancement to direct sun, tanning treatments, Jacuzzis, saunas, salt water, chlorinated pools and direct shower spray.

• Do not receive eyebrow tinting, waxing, electrolysis or laser hair removal treatments close to the brow region.

Important notes

• Remember, your selected colour will be stronger and more sharply defined for 10 to 14 days after application but as the healing process occurs the colour will soften and lighten.

• Your enhancement will look very ashy in your healing stage, as the skin is shedding, pigment will have faded significantly, but don’t panic, your pigment will softly reappear through.

• The approximate healing period is 14 days, however healing can be prolonged if your immune system is compromised, if you are generally stressed and by poor diet.

• Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of colour is to be expected. This is the purpose of the control visit allowing us to fine tune your enhancement.

• Use a good sunscreen. Sun exposure will fade your micro-pigmentation enhancement.

• If you are planning a chemical peel, laser procedure or an MRI scan, please inform the technician of your micro-pigmentation enhancement.

• Please inform the National Blood Service if you donate blood, as you may not be eligible to give blood for 4 months post application.

Dermal fillers can be used to help smooth out facial lines, tighten skin and achieve an enhanced lip shape. They can also be used to contour and reshape certain facial features.

The skin naturally produces a substance called Hyaluronic acid which keeps the skin full, hydrated and elastic. Dermal fillers mimic the effects of Hyaluronic acid resulting in reduced facial lines and increased plumpness of the lips and face.

Dermal fillers are most commonly used to create fuller and more defined lips, structured jawline and chin, plumping and contouring the cheeks, and reshaping the nose. The results are bespoke and tailored to each individual client following a thorough consultation with your Aesthetics practitioner.

Temporary fillers are used at By Charn because they are made of components (Hyaluronic acid) which are already found in our skin. Depending on the brand of filler used and each individual clients metabolism, fillers can last anything from 6-18 months.

Results are evident immediately, however in some cases the filler can take a few days to settle.

A consultation will be carried out by your Aesthetics practitioner who will advise on the quantity of filler required to achieve the best results for you. Most procedures tend to take up to 45 minutes after the consultation. A topical anaesthetic is applied to the area being treated in order to make any discomfort minimal.

Dermal fillers are injected using a fine needle and massaged into place. All fillers used at By Charn also contain anaesthetic which will cause some numbness but will wear off within an hour. Slight redness, swelling and sometimes bruising can occur after treatment, however they are temporary.

• Avoid taking aspirin or other anti-inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen and Advil as these can increase the risk of bleeding and bruising at the treatment site

• Avoid alcoholic beverages for 24 hours prior to the procedure as this can increase the risk of bleeding and bruising at the treatment site

• Sunburn skin is difficult to treat so avoid exposure to the sun

• If you have a history of Herpes Simplex (cold sores) on your face, make sure you informed your GP at least one week prior to your Dermal Filler appointment in order for them to prescribe medication to treat or prevent an a outbreak

• Avoid make-up over the treated area for up to 12 hours after the treatment, if needed, we advise it be minimal

• Drink at least 2 litres of water on the day of your procedure

• No smoking after treatment, avoid alcohol consumption and hot drinks (for lips)

• Any skin care routines should be performed without any pressure

• Avoid using sun beds or extreme sun exposure for 14 days

Lip Augmentation more commonly known as lip filler can be used to achieve an enhanced and defined lip shape. At by Charn, we believe in enhancing what each client already has. All our lip enhancement treatments are completely tailored to the concerns, needs, appearance and goals of each of our clients.

Our lip enhancement procedure uses filler to augment the size and volume of the lip, enhance the outline and profile of the lips, lift the corners of the mouth, smooth away wrinkles around the lip line, plump and firm up lips which have lost definition and volume and correct lip unevenness and asymmetry.

HD Brows differ to many other eyebrow treatments as we don’t believe in a one-shape-fits-all ethos. Brows are as individual as fingerprints and so each step of the HD Brows treatment is completely bespoke from the personal consultation, shape design, tailoring and aftercare process. The HD Brow process usually takes around 45 minutes but we suggest scheduling an hour and consists of a consultation, shaping, lamination, tinting and finishing. There’s also the option of an HD Brows Express treatment so, if you’re short on time or just need a tidy up in between regular appointments, you can keep those bespoke brows fresh.

The effects of the treatment usually last around 4-6 weeks, however this can vary depending on your hair growth. The Microneedling Treatment, or Collagen Induction Therapy, allows for controlled induction of the skin’s self-repair mechanism by creating micro "injuries" in the skin which trigger new collagen synthesis.
